Stewart Copeland and D'Drum will have to try again tomorrow night.
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra was all prepared to spend three days debuting Gamelan D'Drum, the percussion concerto written by Police drummer Stewart Copeland and featuring D'Drum, along with the DSO. But Thursday night's performance was called off due to ice cutting into rehearsal time, and the DSO just sent word: Tonight's concert is also a no-go for obvious reasons. Still, there's always tomorrow?
What: The inclement weather of the last four days has severely impacted the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's rehearsal schedule and forced the cancellation of the concert scheduled for Friday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. The concert originally scheduled for Thursday, February 3 was also cancelled due to weather.

The performance on Saturday, February 5 at 8 p.m. is currently still scheduled to take place. The program for this concert remains unchanged and will feature the world premiere of Gamelan D'Drum written by former drummer for the Police, Stewart Copeland, who will be in attendance.

How: Thursday and Friday night patrons are invited to attend the Saturday night performance. The box office is scheduled to open tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to assist with exchanges. Or patrons may simply bring their Thursday or Friday tickets to the concert on Saturday for an expedited exchange. They should arrive early.

For patrons wanting to exchange to another weekend, the DSO asks that they call the Guest Service Center (214-692-0203) next week to make that exchange, due to limited office staff this week.
At this very moment, Copeland's no doubt holed up in a warm downtown hotel, blaming this all on Sting.
