Janine Turner's Audition Video Provides a Sneak Peek at New Dallas?

janineturner.jpg
Thirty years ago -- which is to say, a decade before Northern Exposure -- a very young Janine Turner appeared on a handful of episodes of Dallas. Since then, of course, the Fort Worth native who presently lives on 300 acres just outside of Dallas appeared in myriad other teevee shows and movies, including Steel Magnolias, Cliffhanger, Robert Altman's Dr. T and the Women, NBC's Friday Night Lights and, most recently, FOX News, where she's a frequent talking head who enjoys saying nice things about her friend Sarah Palin. And maybe you've seen her in those ads for Restasis eye drops. Or you've read her copious musings on the Constitution.

Anyway. Maybe you've heard: TNT's rebooting Dallas, with Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray on board. Seems Turner would like a shot too: I was browsing through Vimeo today and found a freshly posted video audition in which Turner's trying out for a part. Actual dialogue from the actual pilot script? Hmmm.

I was addicted to the original series "Dallas." Janine Turner would be PERFECT as acast member - she can be sassy or sweet. Janine is a Texan which is a plus - she'sbeautiful, classy and is a great actress. I believe that her Northern Exposure and FridayNight Lights fans would love seeing Janine in another series. Good luck, Janine!

My husband and I were talking about Janine being on the show and even he said that she would be perfect on Dallas! She can hang with the best of them!

Janine would be stellar on Dallas. Besides the obvious advantages of being from Dallas, she's proven to be a strong actress, enjoyable to watch, and always entertaining. Who's email can we flood with this request?

I would love to see her on TV or even better to listen to her on a radio program. Every time I've seen her on Fox news I've been quite impressed with her.

I would love to see Janine Turner in Dallas! I think she is still so quirky and off beat! I like her as a brunette even though she is one of those women that would still look good without any hair at all.....she would bring a lot of energy to the show. I am excited they are doing a remake.

Hey folks wouldnt it be nice to actually have someone from Dallas - on the TV show "Dallas"?

I think that the entire city should get behind this...lets start a movement!

Janine Turner always seemed like a very nice person and she has done a lot for this city and for the state, plus I read she raises Longhorns! Gotta love that, plus shes a fine actress and would authentically represent the real Texas.

I've been a Janine Turner fan since she was on "General Hospital"-- she was great in "Northern Exposure" and "Friday Night Lights" and she'd be perfect for an updated "Dallas"!

There's a bunch of mispellings on the website or hers. The "tu" should be "pa".

If she went to Boswell then I'm declaring her from Saginaw and not Fort Worth. I am the final authority on most things Fort Worth.

Northern Exposure is my favorite show of all time. She, however, needs to gain at least 15 lbs and do something about that dern hair. Where's the mole?

Funny, you seemed to have misspelled the word "or".

"Of" usually has a "f" following the "o".

Casting stones when you are spelling sinner yourself...

Naughty, naughty!

To be kind, I won't even get into the multiple grammatical problems with your first sentence.

Be nice!

Lake Country Estates if you want to be technical about it. She went by Janine Gauntt back then and as a freshman was voted Most Beautiful. Headed off to NYC to model the next year.
