In TV Series News: Dallas Is Coming to Look at Dallas. And: ABC Gives Bitches an Order.

​The teevee networks, major and minor and cable and otherwise, are starting to slow-roll-out their next-season pilots. And two, very specifically, affect Dallas -- which would love to make up the business lost when FOX sent The Good Guys packing and gave Lone Star two whole episodes to find an audience.

Let's begin this morning with the obvious: TNT's Dallas reboot has a cast -- at least, the original cast, per TNT's press release: "The updated Dallas will include original series stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray." Also on board: "In the pilot for the new Dallas, Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives) will play John Ross. Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious) will play Elena, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross."

Whatever. The question remains: Where are they shooting that sumbitch? Yet again, let's ask Janis Burklund, head of the Dallas Film Commission, who clearly can't get enough of this query. Oh, Janis?

​"I can tell you that they will be in soon for a scout," she says, which is good news. "We'll be taking them around to look at possible locations and expect a decision will follow shortly after their trip. Let's just say that will happen not too long after the Super Bowl clears out."

There's also further news concerning Darren Star's adaptation of Kim Gatlin's book Good Christian Bitches -- you know, "Desperate Housewives in Dallas." (The Park Cities, to be more precise.) Deadline reports that ABC hasn't yet ordered a full pilot, only a presentation -- which runs but a few minutes and teases what the series might look like should it get the whole green light. Which suggests the network ain't completely sold on the idea just yet. Maybe because it already has, ya know, Desperate Housewives?

Yeah, but I heard on E! News (surprisingly reliable) that they haven't given Desperate a complete renewal yet, since those b*tches salaries are way too high, considering the current ratings they are bringing in.That may leave a hole for GCB, as long as they can get it together responsibly fast.
