Ice Day Redux: DISD Calls It Early

• I go straight to the single malt.

• The wife and I went through a couple bottles of wine, taking it easy in case I have to work tomorrow. Then I got word of Wednesday's closures. I tore into a half bottle of Bulleit Bourbon. Now moving on to my favorite, The Glenrothes, a Speyside single malt that stirs ancestral memories. I have enough to keep me until Thursday. Then I'm going to the blended stuff. My wife has a couple gallons of Grey Goose and we have plenty of ice (pun intended). If we remember Icepocalypse 2011, it will be a shame.

• Li'l 7 already listens to awesome music, eats gourmet, and comprehends Unfair Park. Frankly, my advice is worthless at this point. You got it down.

• Too late. He came in the office while I was fixing dinner -- gumbo, corn bread -- and read Unfair Park. Then he came in the kitchen and did The Happy Dance.

• ha, living in the 'burbs' I've just started to buy it a case at a time (the big bottles).

• 'Tis indeed. Still, the bottles are too small. Mine's about empty. And it wasn't earlier today. It's still today, right?

• my mom asked me today if i remember our snow days. Sadly, i can't remember back that far!

• I tapped into that Buffalo Trace Mash today too, but still have plenty to share; stuff is stout.

• You should tell the boy right after he gets ready and is out at the bus stop. My dad did that, and my sister and I used to say, "Shut the fuck up and go back inside! This damn bus is coming any second!" Then, he'd assure us that school was totally, totally cancelled, and we'd run to the house, my mom would have made some warm pastry thing, and we'd have a few challenging rounds of Scrabble or a movie-a-thon. Good times!

• I'm ripping the seal of my Knob Creek in your honor--BOOM!! Right back atcha!-- Alas, the BF is in Mesquito, so, feh. This may be a solo sipping evening. Is that bad? I think one bottle will be enough. I don't have your strong (congealed?) liver, Big Bob.

• Awful kind. But I do have two fresh bottles. And, really, that may not be enough.

• You'd be welcome over here to share a bourbon, I have some new stories to email you soon...But I'm stuck in the burbs, probably why I stock up!
