For Your Weekend Watching Pleasure: The Talking Heads Play the Palladium in 1978

talking heads - 78 dallas from das ubuibi on Vimeo.

Given Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz's Valentine's Day-trip to the Eight-Track Museum's grand opening, the timing's certainly good: Only yesterday, someone posted to Vimeo about 28 minutes' worth of footage from the Talking Heads' '78 trip through town during the More Songs About Building and Food tour. Which probably sounds familiar, seeing as how but two months ago I directed your attention to the far better audio from this very same show at the Palladium, which I haven't stopped listening to since. Extra credit: Sync 'em up!

Forthcoming (tomorrow), the return of For Your Weekend Listening Pleasure.

A not so subtle reminder of how far technology has come in the the last 30 years.

FONDEST memories; i listen to the bootleg of this show perhaps even more than The Name of This Band is Talking Heads. Blondie's "limited" release live recording was also born in the Dallas Pally...

What about "'Til 2"? Is it gonna be on every weekend, or was that just a tease for us "Big Bob-bble Heads" (Yup, I just went there. That is what genius distracted by the great "Jerry Maguire" sounds like.)?

All worthy DJs need a name for their groupies. I'll occasionally listen to Dunham & Miller, but "P1's"? No personality.

Until I pass the "vacation with his parents test", and I will (terminus: Oscar Sunday), I apologize for all my horrible corny comments in advance.

But...you know you love the thought of groupie listeners...I just haven't got the name yet. You're welcome. In advance.

Thanks for posting this! Its another fine example to prove this city USED to be pretty cool...before all the crazy right-wingers moved in ;)
