I once stood next to Chrissie Hyde at the Bronco Bowl. I was, like, 13. So I know how you feel, Faith Hill. Exhilarating, isn't it?

Those two women above, of course, are Faith Hill and Chrissie Hynde, the latter of whom was my first rock-and-roll crush. That was taken yesterday at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie, where, tonight at 9 p.m., the former Audrey Perry and the Great Pretender will perform in front of the CMT cameras for a live broadcast of Crossroads -- yet another Pepsi-sponsored Fan Jam event.

I'll probably play some Pretenders tonight on The Ticket -- no Prince, though, more than likely, which is a damned shame, but screw him. Till I heard the promo this morning, I'd almost forgotten: I'm doing a Super Bowl edition of Till 2 tonight -- 11 p.m. till 2 a.m. on KTCK-1310 on your AM dial. Had thought about playing songs from artists in town for the big game and big parties -- but that leaves me with, what, Black Eyed Peas, Kid Rock, Duran Duran, Five for Fighting, Train and The Fray? Um .. no. (This ain't no KXT. I kid, I kid. I swear.)

Instead, expect three hours' worth of bootlegs recorded at Memorial Auditorium downtown between 1967 and 1971. And: other B-sides, obscurities and odds and sods for those parked in front of the fireplace with their whiskey or navigating their way between wingdings. Request away. I'll do my best to get to, and I'll post the playlist in the comments tomorrow.

Chrissie HYnde, Kate Bush and Faith Hill at next years superbowl halftime show is what I want to see. Kate Bush's Be kind to my mistakes, Joanni, and Running up that Hill are more expressive of football scenarios. Throw in some Faith Hill and Pretenders songs and the show is well complete. Don't get me wrong, and others of her.s Must admit, not too familiar with Faith Hill. Also a future superbowl could be played in London, Chriise Hynde's adopted hometown (she has lived there for forty years or so). ANother interesting venue if it does materialize in the future in England.

Yes. But at least your pipes didn't break, freeze, and then thaw out and turn your backyard into a muddy/leftover snowy/dog crappy pond. And all the after hours plumbers want to watch some dumb football game instead of working to fix my stuff.

I was invited to a "The Who" concert a few years agao and much to my delighted surprise, "The Pretenders" opened. Chrissie blew Roger and Pete away.

I know! A lot of people don't realize that The Pretenders Rock until they see them live!

I was late to getting into the Pretenders, but thanks to beautifully cheap vinyl at Half Price Books I was introduced to their greatness. Their first three albums are incredible and Chrissie is a true original.

sounds like Bob wants rarities, boots, and b-sides so if the Velvets get some love may I suggest "Over You" or one of the Dallas recordings from the 1969: The Velvet Underground Live album. That or "Ocean" which I think would've made for a killer open to a 5th album.

I'm puting in my request for Velvet Underground's "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'!". I am writing it down because I expect to get skipped over tonight, and possibly even the next show, even tho I call to say, yes, the show is fine, play my damn song.

Never thought much of Chrissie since I only heard her top ten, then a friend gave me a zillion pretenders songs, she is now my favorite female voice, sorry Annie Lennox
