As If You Needed Another Reminder: Beware Who You Friend on the Facebook

This just in from the U.S. Attorney's Office: A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted a 35-year-old Ennis man named Jerry Wayne Valek on three counts of production of child pornography. He's been in custody for about a month, and according to the indictment, Valek spent more than two years -- from September 18, 2008, to December 14, 2010 -- getting three young men to send him sexually explicit photos for "lascivious exhibition."

I'll spare you the details of the federal indictment -- suffice it to say, there were a lot of photos taken using cell phones and mirrors. And how'd Valek get the boys to send him their photos? Says the U.S. Attorney:
Valek, using the name of "Jessica Villerra," [represented] himself on his Facebook profile to be a 25-year-old Dallas resident [and] enticed three young men, under the age of 18, to send sexually explicit images of themselves to him.  The "Jessica Villerra" Facebook account has more than 450 registered "friends," a majority of which are male minors that Facebook indicates are current high school students.
If convicted, Valek faces a max of between 15 and 30 years in prison for each count, a lifetime of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.

Oh. My. God.

I have been trying to get "Jessica" to sleep with me for almost a year. No wonder she would never actually meet in person.

"Her" facebook profile was still live this week...now it has disappeared.

And he began this scam back in 2002 according to my records.

I feel sick.

I think adults need to come to the realization that kids today really don't care what they post online or if anyone sees them naked or not.

These boys sent him the pictures on their own volition. I don't see where the actual crime is either.

Although, it is weird he spent TWO YEARS to accomplish this.

Here's to hoping they lock him up and lose the key...

I'm sorry, what's the crime here? He really went to great lengths to get these precious angel children to handle up on themselves and send him pics. Who is hurt by this. Offended, pissed off, and embarrassed, sure, but hurt? Of course, I'm not sure Manson is guilty of much other than telling some crazy bitches some f-ed up shit. He should've used the defense, who could've known, that was some foul acid I got.

I've only had guys OVER 18 send me THOSE pictures, but, lemme say, it didn't take facebook. They usually are just like, "Wanna look at my phone?" and Bam. There it is. I just go, ummm, thanks?

" a lifetime of supervised release" hmmm. given 15 to 30 years for each count, sounds like his lifetime on the outside won't be too long anyways.

They incited him? Sounds like entrapment to me.
