DPD Won't Say Why Those Police Cars Are Parked on Every Bridge Along the Tollway ...

An old friend of mine who has better things to do, like get his kid ready for a bar mitzvah tomorrow morning, just called to ask: Why are there Dallas police cars parked on every North Dallas Tollway overpass? He got on at Northwest Highway heading north to Plano, and has seen 'em on every overpass -- all the way to Addison at least.

Dallas Police won't say why they're there. But, really, you know why -- something about a NCAA Division I title game being played at Pizza Hut Park tonight and a certain vice president's visit. Go Eagles! I dunno.

Or maybe it's to protect them from nutjobs that think that the Obama administration has done anything even remotely justifying any sort of the "second amendment remedies" that the right has so enjoyed dogwhistling lately. We do not need to justify the rational of someone that would attempt to assassination a member of the Obama administration, such a person is clearly gripped by mental illness and a grave danger to all of us. It's such a ridiculous notion to think there is any justification to the idea that frankly I am very concerned by people that suggest that there might be one. This rhetoric from the right is toxic to society and gone on far too long.
Given the other option was Sarah Palin serving as VP to John McCain who I think it is very clear as of late is suffering from sort of mental decline, I think we dodged such a big disaster that we should keep any traffic annoyance due to security concerns in perspective. The alternate reality is a woman that was so paranoid about a guy writing a book about her and spying on her house that she attached a second fence on top of her old one, creepily filmed him minding his own business on his balcony reading a book, broadcast it on national TV and then used it is a metaphor for national security.
Must admit that I have been missing this since the Cheney / Bush group made them a regular occurance

I sat in traffic for an hour, without any explanation. Dick.
Cops were on every bridge, underpass, overpass, etc. on my way home to Plano from downtown Dallas. If they need security so tight on every road they drive on, then don't they get the picture? They're no longer "OF the People, FOR the People, or BY the People". Maybe its their corporate masters that require them to use the law enforcement lap dogs.
The police were on every bridge and underpass from the beginning of the N Dallas Tollway downtown all the way to the Daddy Bush. Some were out of the vehicles One over a bridge in Highland Park had a rifle out Wow, That is an amazing amount of man power.

That would explain why the SWAT cahnnel on my scanner has been busy this afternoon. He's on the move as I type.

Yeah, that's a wise use of overtime dollars. Who would want to his Biden and force us to face the idea of Boenher sobbing his way though the oath of office? No one on either side, I would say.
He will probably be the only one there with the big party going on over at Jerry's crib tonight. Gotta admit though, Pizza Hut Park is a pretty good spread to watch a football game at, American or otherwise.
