Yeah, But How Do Good Guys Cast and Creator Matt Nix Feel About Its Chances for a Return?

How much does Mayor Tom want Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford to come back to town for a second season of The Good Guys?
Friday night was the final Good Guys of the season ... and maybe ever. Keep in mind, though, as FOX publicist Michael Roach cautioned a few weeks back, "No decision has been made about whether or not it will be picked up for a second season." And it probably won't be for another month or so, till after FOX gets a look at how its midseason series are doing following their debuts in January and February. Some locals who worked on the Dallas-shot show feel pretty good about its return, even if a few others are far less optimistic.

But as Deadline reminds, following the season finale's dismal show in the Friday-night ratings:
Fans didn't rally behind The Good Guys to give it a boost in the finale last night. The Fox dramedy (0.7/2, 2.3 million) matched its demo rating from the last 2 weeks to finish fifth in its 9 PM slot and second to last among all programs on the night -- original or repeats -- with only the 8 PM Good Guys rerun (0.6/2, 1.9 million) behind it.
So, for now, it's very wait-n-see. Which isn't to say creator Matt Nix and stars Colin Hanks, Jenny Wade and Diana Maria Riva don't have some thoughts. To the Twitter.

The creator of The Good Guys (and Burn Notice) gives nothing away. Still, his tweet does have the air of resignation about it, no?

Colin Hanks likewise doesn't seem too optimistic:

Jenny Wade offers perhaps the most to-the-point summation of where the series sits at present:

Then there's Diana Maria Riva, who joined a live chat during Friday night's finale and encouraged  folks to call the FOX comment line: "They might not be able to listen to all the comments.. the important thing is to simply flood their lines with call/messages." You heard the lady.
