Guesstimations put the Borders crowd at 1,500-plus, all save for the VIPs still wrapped all the way 'round Preston Royal Shopping Center waiting for Dubya. He won't be here till 9, and at present media is penned (even the late-arriving Jane McGarry) on the patio -- and me without my cigarettes. Ah, here comes yet another security sweep, this one with a German shepherd. Ran into the first guy in line. He got here at 2 p.m. yesterday -- at least, his wife did. Next door Fish City's selling $2 Bloody Marys. Yes, please.
Update 8:15 a.m: Dubya commences signing.
Update 8:45 a.m.: Good Morning From Fish City: Bush is
still signing; the line, still wrapped all the way 'round Preston Royal,
into the alley behind the shopping center. And
Fish City is open for
bidness.
