One Month After Women Working in Dallas Fire-Rescue File Sexual Harassment, Discrimination Suit, a Settlement Offer

• The "baby" was 4 years old. Ms Lopez didnt even work at station 9 when the child was a baby. It was a large sewing needle . And besides.....who uses pins on diapers anymore???

• Oh my lord, these comments make me pray, and pray hard, for the DFR.

• The real issue that no one has investigated is the sudden resignation of David Etheridge of HR. He was under investigation for sexual harassment charges and left before having his name drugged through the mud. Now that an independent investigation could not prove his guilt- note, I did not say he was innocent; HE IS ABOUT TO RETURN TO THE CITY.. Yet, Recinda Ellis was fired because she would not sleep with him! What is up with that!

• DFD Firefifgter: So because it wasn't really semen, the joke was ok? Should the female employee have paid to have her own test conducted prior to reporting it as harassment? How do you feel about nooses left in black employees' lockers? Is it not really harassment if the nooses aren't big enough to actually fit over someone's head? Corporate tolerance of those kinds of jokes pretty much defines "hostile work environment." And if the pins left on the bed were from the diaper she took off of the baby, makes you wonder how she got the new diaper to stay on without pins. You might also want to work on learning how to spell "firefighter."

• For the money.Tax money.I don't think a woman is physically fit for fire fighting.I know this will make them mad but its my opinion.The gun helps them become police.There are fools and crazy folk in all departments.

• You people need to get YOUR facts right and search out the truth before you rant about unfair treatment to females in the fire department. #1 fact. As for the employee with semen on her coffee mug and picture,Well she works in the maintenance/repair shop,and It has nothing to do with the Fire Suppression/firefighting division,they are the cities mechanic department.It was only Ivory dishwashing liquid the men were using to play a BAD joke on her.It came out of the employee kitchen/breakroom.Those idiot investigators should have tested it !!!!!! #2 fact.FF Sherry Lopes was at the station with her NEWBORN baby and went to the bedroom/dorm to chance the diaper on the baby and left the pins on the bed afterwards,They were forgotten by her.The firefighters at that station can vouch for that. SHE forgot and left them on the bed,and comes back later saying someone put them there to stick her.I know the men who worked there and that never happened to her,They liked her,And her husband was DFD retired and everyone loved him,No one would or did that to her. I have NO idea why she wants to make this up and RUN with it.

• I have a close relative who is high ranking and has been with the department for nearly 30 years. He is a misogynist. He thinks women are stupid and should not be anything other than teachers and stay-at-home wives. He belittles women. He has violent outbursts directed toward the women he works around. His behavioral in just about any other job setting would have gotten him fired long ago. But this type of behavior is pervasive in Dallas Fire Rescue and has been going on an accepted for a very long time, at least three decades that I know of. Instead of disciplining him, they've just moved him around to different stations and different jobs. I'm telling you, these women have without a doubt been harassed and it's something that is allowed and comes from the top.

• They must not believe Leanne Siri if they keep spending money to fight her. Seems like they have settled with everyone else.
