DPD Warns: Suspect in East Dallas Sexual Assault Same As Man Wanted for '08 Rapes
That's all DPD had to go on. Until yesterday. Senior Corporal Kevin Janse sends word that DPD now suspects the same man is responsible for two other sexual assaults in 2008, which took place on October 24 and November 1 of that year. In advance of a 2 p.m. press conference scheduled at DPD HQ, Janse tells Unfair Park that the department discovered the similarities yesterday: "The last evidence came back from the most recent offense within the last 24 hours," he says, at which point "forensic evidence confirmed the same person at all three offenses."
Per the department's Friday-afternoon bulletin, there are other similarities: "same basic physical/clothing description, early morning hours, same time of year, duplex residences (or apartments), taken small electronics and same general area." DPD says all three assaults took place in an area east of Central Avenue, south of Mockingbird Lane, north of Columbia Avenue and west of Grand Avenue. And, says Janse, it's "possible he's responsible for more" than just the three assaults DPD's aware of. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward; DPD says to call 214-671-3584 if you have more information.
