Many thanks (?) to the Friends of Unfair Park who forwarded this link to Sarah Palin's Tuesday-eve endorsement of Stephen Broden, who, of course, is running for Eddie Bernice Johnson's Congressional seat in the 30th District. Offered in full:

It's an honor to support Stephen Broden to represent Texas' 30th Congressional District. As a teacher and pastor he has made it his life's work to support the good people of the Fair Park and South Dallas areas in the beautiful Lone Star State. His community leadership helped provide better economic and educational opportunities by supporting private sector efforts to empower the people there. Through his Fair Park Friendship Center, Pastor Broden has provided practical help to those in need, proving that private charities can do much more than government can. As a Commonsense Constitutional Conservative, he is committed to getting our country back to the founding principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility.

Daniel.. That is offensive and a tad off base. Not to mention ... much too far over my head to understand. While your use of big words gives me a soft on, I don't want to look them up. This has nothing to do with my "failed bid for media stardom" but thanks for pointing that out. I don't think anyone is out to get me but I do think we live in an ultra conservative city and I just happen to be one who bashes back. Jack E Jett How on earth could you possibly take me for a teabagger? I shouldn't have addressed you and John M simultaneously, he's merely tiresome but has a point to make. Somewhere in there, you make a salient point, as well, but you're pathologically aggrieved and bilious. You seem to need to believe people are out to get you -- maybe it makes you feel important and salves the sting of your failed bid for media stardom. But nobody's out to get you. And very few teabaggers post on Unfair Park, so far as I can tell.
This reminds me of the hoo-hah that surrounded the '91 Louisiana runoff for Governor. Edwin Edwards, widely known for and later indicted for corruption, vs. David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK. Granted, EBJ and Broden are small potatoes compared to that. But faced with the choice between two bad candidates, who do you vote for? The crook or the shnook? I don't live in the district in question. If I did, I'd be staying home on Election Day, or writing in "None of the Above".

What EBJ did is unforgivable,however I know nothing about Pastor Broden.I have never heard of him .The nice new looking building does not seem to have enough members to support it, how is he paying his bills.I will vote for EBJ because we will have two years to run a candidate who will win that has some stability.If Broden is elected he will be there forever its harder to beat an incumbent. If Sara Palin is for him in District 30 he will lose not enough Republicans in district and most Texans know Palin is empty in the brain department.

It does not matter who gets this job as long as Eddie Bernice Johnson is removed bodily or in pieces as the poorest state rep. How can she say she did not know the rules she broke ? I think the funniest thing about it is that some folks seem to have missed something - all those years of screaming and crying and kicking their heels has desensitized society to the point that we just don't care anymore. Me, I didn't graft any stereotype on anyone that won't vote for EBJ, all I did was share Broden's publicly stated beliefs that he is trying to bury because most people would find them morally unpalatable. I am just pointing out that Broden is completely fringe and his beliefs don't sit well with most sane people. But by all means if don't have a problem with the belief that Christians have an obligation to fire gay people, that "darwin atheists" are engaged in a massive genocidal conspiracy against black people and that America needs to be run by biblical law, vote for the guy that will fight for it which is Broden.

Considering Broden purposefully broke IRS tax law and is using his tax exempt church as a political organization unless he has started to pay taxes for his church he is corrupt as well. He is also in my opinion mentally ill, unless you think that atheists and believers of evolution are working together on a genocidal plot to kill off black people. Also, it is disgusting and sick to suggest that Christians have a religious obligation to fire gay people.

Well they are on about the same level intellectually, it's not surprising that a twit would endorse a guy that things "darwin-atheists" are all in on a massive conspiracy to commit genocide against black people, willfully breaks IRS code, is against hate crime legislation, thinks Christians have an obligation to fire gay people from their jobs, that the decline of America is because we don't have a Christian Theocracy, entered a restricted area to protest Obama not holding the national day of prayer at the White House and then was arrested after being asked to leave three times. I like Broden just fine - far better than his opponent - but Palin also supports Rick Perry and this really troubles me. Maybe Broden asked her for the endorsement but if not, it would be better for Broden if Palin just kept her mouth shut. Something is wrong with this.
This should really help him win over all the Tea Partiers in the "Fair Park and South Dallas areas."
Figures. But isn't Sarah against community organizers? I mean, she had sooooo many digs against Obama for being one. I passed the Brodenmobile wrapped SUV on Stemmons a few weeks ago and was pretty sure that Broden himself was at the wheel. Wanted to roll my eyes at him but wasn't sure how to do that so he'd notice and didn't want to wreck my car!
She doesnt know shit about Broden's past, she wouldn't recognize him if he sat on her. Pulleeze.
