Hey "Anonymous"--i.e. "too chickenshit to put my name behind what I say"--that "old crusty hippie beardo bum", John Fullinwider (whom I have known since 8th grade) works his ass off seven days a week working two jobs to support his family and put his brilliant kids through college and top-notch DISD high schools, was one of Dallas' best high school teachers of troubled kids for many years, was named "DISD 'Teacher of the Year", founded a Credit Union so poor working people could buy cars and homes, and has a list of civic accomplishments and contributions going back 30 years would put 99.9% of the citizens of Dallas to shame. But don't take my word for it, google "John Fullinwider" and see for your anonymous self.

I picked up this and other stats from a Park Board meeting last week. But park officials didn't include it in their budget briefing today. I mean, it's there -- on Page 25 -- if you want to pull some numbers out of a scattergram and do your own math. But they don't spell it out for council members. Wonder why. Maybe they will during the briefing.

• Activist, most of the wealthy owe more of their wealth to gov't largess than the poor get in aggregate. IBM, TI--gov't contractors, Exxon, BP, leeches off the defense industry, utilities, bankers, owe the gov't for their businesses. There are 3 markets not free markets. The free market features competition and alternatives. The professional market enjoy gov't guaranteed monopoly access to special markets. No alternatives though there is competition. Finally the Monopoly utility market exploits gov't commission for services, gov't funding, bonding, gov't granted access to easements and subsidies as well as bearing the cost of vast externalities that other markets don't exploit. Your definition of "activist" is classist and racist.
