A Very Early Look at Proposed Ordinance Calling For Rezoning of Lower Greenville

• Wait, what's commercial amusement? Does that include all live theatre, dance, and music (including the kind I've seen at coffee shops and reputable restaurants in other places)? Does it include exercise or classes too? That's the less clear of the two. It's a major change, but maybe they're trying to make the whole area sedate.

• This sure does look like an attempt to remove what little character and charm Dallas has, or has left. WTG city council.

• I know how the code reads, if a bar hires you to do what you call design work, then they get your blessing. If not, then they're the scourge of the West. SUPs will kill lower Greenville, just like Deep Ellum. If you can't learn from the past.. repeat it until property values decrease and Westdale scoops up the land. O' Canada!

• My one and only comment here... Do not for one minute believe or assume that I am automatically going to support this proposal to rezone Lowest Greenville. - There are too many questions and not enough answers just after a first reading - I have yet to figure out how the scumbars are going to be closed down under this proposal I will post my analysis of the proposal before the public meeting on my website.

• typical and expected attempt at some backside banging by Avi and friends of local business... lets hope the more intelligent and reasonable thinking minds prevail in this effort

• This looks like a blatant attempt to zone out some long-established businesses regardless of the money they may have invested in their establishments. Most are small businesses without the funds to fight this in court. SUPs rquired to stay in business are at the whim of the city council and who likes/dislikes a business.
