OK, So Your Dallas County Property Deed May Have Gotten a Little Soggy Overnight

I tried to retrieve something from Dallas County's Web site this morning only to discover that, sorry, it ain't responding. Two seconds later, I found this Associated Press story explaining why not: The county's Records Buildings is underwater -- at least, the basement is following a downtown water main break at around 10 last night that's put some six feet of H2O into the facility where the county stores just a few of its more important docs -- like, oh, property deeds and marriage certificates and other important scraps of paper you'd probably prefer didn't get soggy.

Fox4 says the building will be closed all day so Oncor and Dallas Water Utilities can repair the damage to -- and due to -- the eight-inch line. Calls to the county have gone unanswered this morning, but it's early. And, ya know, wet.
