• I knew him understood him believed in him........he has a mind that is not like others. Richard and I spent 5 yrs together.  Went thru the thick and thin of it all.  We had sputnik, Desmo and three other cats and 9 dogs. we had the business with the ducatis and the dirt bikes too  I saw and delt with all of it. • Knottygirl, I'm totally with you on "Vanishing Point", but since the poster was at the top of the article I wanted to draw on my vast knowledge of....the only other car movie I could call up. And to my credit, I don't remember a naked girl on a dirtbike in VP. My priorities are clearly in the wrong place.

"Vanishing Point" was pure greatness, if a bit confusing with the way it sort of started with the end, jumped back, and then came around to where we first came in. It's even confusing to write! However, I'm sure many guys only watched it for the naked chick on the dirtbike.

• Two Lane Blacktop (1971) has got to be it. 'One of the 1955 Chevrolets used in the film was driven by Harrison Ford in American Graffiti (1973).'

• I like The Gumball Rally and I think Brock Yates prefers Gumball over the Cannonball series. Now I 'm wondering whatever happened to automotive writer Steven Cole Smith.

• Gimme Two Lane Blacktop any day. Not much on dialogue or acting (except Warren Oates of course), but you got James Taylor and Dennis Wilson riding around in a wicked badass primer grey 55 Chevy with a hot blonde hippy chick. Greatness!

• I think Cannonball Run wins for all time best ever car chase movie. Closely followed by Cannonball Run II.

• Agreed about the greatness Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, which must not be confused with Mother, Jugs and Speed.

• Actually - Eat My Dust is my favorite along with Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.
