Evan Smith Puts Craig Watkins on Witness Stand, or: The Entirety of Yesterday's Interview

• Two Republican Commissioners and Foster. Foster is no Democrat. He is a self-serving moron that was a Republican and should have stayed one. He fits right in. IMO. Oh and no. I read the report, maybe you should. There is no evidence against Cortes and Evans in it just a bunch of accusations from persons and motives unknown. I don't think there is any question about the DA. He has acted responsibly. There is however a lot of questions about the actions of this commissioners court.

• @heart and soul, the Trinity River runs through Dallas, not de-Nile. Two republican commissioners and one democrat commissioner launched the investigation. The real question is why did Watkins drag his feet until he found a fiercely partisan democratic ally to take over (and offering a rather implausible rational for doing so, a rational that Lyons abandoned after maybe 20 minutes of due diligence)? Right..... I believe its likely for the same reason Watkins refused the Attorney General's offer to investigate. Watkins wanted someone he could count on to limit the extent of the investigation. Never forget that there are allegations in the Defenbaugh's report implicating other powerful Dallas county Democrats, particularly one who promotes an annual Festives-like ethnic carnival. Although there seems to be quite a bit of evidence against Cortez and Evans, I believe Lyons is being counted on to cut a deal with them that trades leniency for silence.

• Thanks for the video. I hope others see it. Watkins is a great DA. Even after all the crap that has been thrown at him he is still the same man I voted for. He really is just interested in seeking justice. He is a complete opposite of the republican partisan hacks on the commissioners court. They knew there was an investigation and they did their own fake investigation anyway. Why? I hope someone is investigating.

• Now we have further delays because of the sham of an excuse about this conspiracy to hurt Watkins. Why is Lyons talking about this investigation? Watkins tried to slow the media down all year by claiming he couldn't say anything in public about his investigation. More ploys

• Um...so did anyone else see on DMN how the "special prosecutor" admitted that the witness that came forward was full of it? And this was a few days after Lyons got appointed. You mean that CDub couldn't figure out the witness that caused him to recuse himself was a bullshitter in the time it took someone with no prosecutorial experience? Now the Texas Rangers are involved. Good Grief!
