For whatever reason, Unfair Park's cross-the-street neighbor
Heritage Auction Galleries' sale of one of four original Energizer bunnies this weekend is
generating big news. Whatever. I was more interested in this item from the April Signature Sports Memorabilia Auction:
Rafael Septien's 1978 NFC Championship ring, made by the fine folks at Jostens and valued at $2,000 to $4,000 but currently going for $600. (Wonder if
his '87 guilty plea has anything to do with that.)
Says Heritage, "Our records indicate that this is the first such ring consigned to auction since teammate Jethro Pugh's sold in December 2002." According to
the infallible Wikipedia, the ex-Cowboys kicker and longtime leading scorer is currently selling timeshares in Mexico.
