Jeffrey DeMunn and Sally Nystuen Vahle will star in Dallas Theater Center's presentation of Death of a Salesman, which opens Friday.
Jacob Cigainero, public relations director at the Dallas Theater Center, sends this reminder today: If you're dying to see the great Jeffrey DeMunn as Willy Loman in  DTC's Death of a Salesman Friday night when it opens at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, and you're on what Ray Davies might call a low budget, then you might want to line up extra early Friday morning. The box office opens at 10 a.m. the morning of the premiere, and first-comers will get to pay what they can for the debut performance -- part of what artistic Kevin Moriarty called last week DTC's attempt to offer theater "for all of Dallas."

And, yes, by "pay what you can," DTC means just that. As Moriarty put it during the 2010-'11 season announcement, theatergoers can pay "as much or as little as they can afford." And per the press release reminder: "Pay What You Can allows patrons to purchase ANY seat for ANY amount they choose. For as little as a penny, theatergoers can see world-class live theater at Dallas Theater Center." So, don't forget: Tickets on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for that night's performance only. The show runs through May 16.
