It was but 10 months ago we first told you about Edwin Cabaniss's efforts to resurrect the Kessler Theater on W. Davis Street in Oak Cliff. How time flies, as tomorrow night it makes its formal bow with, among other events, James Bland's A Photographic History of Music in Dallas exhibit (which, I assume, will include this pic of the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Longhorn Ballroom) and Josh Alan Friedman's book launch and performance.

Our old pal Cindy Chaffin, now working for KERA and its Art&Seek blog, provides an eight-minute sneak peek at the Kessler, past and present. The video, in which Jeff Liles provides a tour of the impressively refurbished joint, follows after the jump.
