• I don't think so - it has been called one of the largest collections of Craftsman style homes in the nation and is the largest HD in Dallas and Texas. Woodrow is recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation "Historic Schools: Success Stories": http://woodrowwildcats.org/historic_woodrow.pdf This may have been a source used since it mentions how the school and the adjoining historic neighborhoods work together.

• I live in JH and knew it was a Dallas historic district, but never heard anything about it being a National Register historic district. Does TOH have their facts straight?

• "Aesthetics" is a code word for "Communist." I live in McKinney, but comment about inner-city Dallas neighborhoods because my own subdivision garners no notice from any quarter anywhere. "Interesting people" is a code word for liberals, Muslims and homosexuals -- in other words, the Axis of Evil. I joss keeding. Seriously, any ol' foo could see 10 years ago that Junius Heights was next in line for full-throated gentrification.

• Interesting folks live in zoning protected neighborhoods? Who knew?

• "...historic district driving up property values." Well that's obviously anti-growth, anti-business propaganda. How dare you rat-shack lovers pit neighbor against neighbor and impinge on home-owners' property rights. Historic preservation is SO anti-American. Translation: How dare you property owners keep us spec-builders from snatching up pre-existing, pre-infrastructured subdivisions one lot at a time at depreciated values.
