From Deep Inside the Dallas Convention Center, Walk Down "The Trails of North Texas"

Categories: Events
The Professional Convention Management Association kicked off its 3,000-attendees-strong annual conference last night with a wingding at the Dallas Convention Center. Mayor Tom, Southwest Airlines' Gary Kelly and American Airlines' Gerard Arpey spoke this morning during "Airlines and Meetings: A CEO Conversation," but I'm looking forward to Wednesday, when Malcolm Gladwell offers a lunchtime presentation intended to help attendees "Develop Your Story of Success." For those wondering how Dallas (and Grapevine and Addison and Irving and Fort Worth) represented during the Sunday-eve shindig, dubbed "The Trails of North Texas," look no further than the video below.

Update at 3:11 p.m.: According to this very brief brief, Dallas is more attractive to convention planners than the Crescent City:
This year's Professional Convention Management Assn. Annual Meeting, Jan. 10-13 at the Dallas Convention Center, drew more attendance than last year's event that drew 3,134. "This year's meeting is larger than last year's meeting in New Orleans, and that's an awfully popular place," said John Folks, 2009 PCMA chairman of the board. Final numbers will be released after the meeting, according to Deborah Sexton, PCMA'S president and CEO.
