Ask Steve if there are any copies of" Vibration Change ". My copy wore out years ago. Yes please.
I always DID like that song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lex9KLNk5K0 Jo Stafford, alas, performed a significantly shorter version. Full lyrics here: http://www.allmusicals.com/lyrics/mosthappyfellathe/bigd.htm And I see, in 1999, it did not escape <em>The New York Times</em>'s attention: http://www.nytimes.com/1999/12/17/arts/on-the-road-a-10-gallon-place-with-dreams-to-match.html?pagewanted=all
I have always wondered why the city did not adopt "You're from Big D" from The Most Happy Fella, a musical of the 1950/60 era. It is catchy and not degrading or silly.
Anne, thanks for the information and for the heads-up. The link has been fixed.
The download link is broken, FYI.
Wow - thank you for sharing. Actually, Mark WAS great. He toured the world as pianist for jazz greats Carmen McRae and Marilyn Maye, performed in the orchestra of Broadway shows, and was a native Dallasite who graduated from Hillcrest High School. He died in 1986, I believe. He was a dear friend of my mother's and is still much missed. This 80's abomination/epitomization was by no means the best representation of his talent, I assure you. He did love Dallas.
