Adam West Is Signing Pictures in Richardson This Weekend. And Talking to Unfair Park.

Only time my dad ever wanted to attend a comic-book convention was when he heard Adam West was signing photos. And this was, oh, two years ago maybe? Batman returns Saturday and Sunday to the Dallas Comic Con at the Richardson Civic Center, where he'll be joined by some dude from Twilight: New Moon and the X-Men movies, Young Indiana Jones hisself, the amazingly named Charisma Carpenter of Buffy fame, some supporting players from the original Battlestar Galactica and Chewbacca, natch.

I spoke with West at length yesterday -- kind of a thrill, I will admit, right up there with the first time I talked to William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy, oy. That's what happens when you're a product of pop culture -- get West on the BatPhone, and you feel like Commissioner Gordon. He even answers the phone, "West Wayne Manor." Anyway. The interview, which begins with West talking about his chat with the trash man, is below or right here, if you'd like to take it with you and listen later. (Can't imagine why.) We cover quite a bit of ground in the rambling fanboy chitchat -- everything from his turn in the forgotten '69 film The Girl Who Knew Too Much as a villain to why Batman still isn't on DVD to how, like Shatner, he only found steady work when he decided it was OK to laugh at himself, as he's done on Family Guy and 30 Rock.

We also talk about Lookwell, the brilliant pilot written for West by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel. As a bonus, and because it's nearing the end of a long week, the whole episode follows.
