You Can Own a Small Piece of the Statler

• Hmmm, I wonder about the authenticity. My mom insists that restaurants and hotels and university cafeterias used to inscribe "Stolen from XXXXX" on the flatware to deter swipers. (Didn't work, as one of Mom's roommates had a whole set of forks, knives and spoons from some local eatery until the roommate's divinity student fiance made her take it all back by refusing to eat with stolen flatware, but that was apparently the practice back in the 40s and 50s.) Anyhoo, surely the good silver would merit a "stolen from" inscription.

• Oh no, I'm not falling for that again. I bought the antique portrait of early photographer C.E. Arnold off eBay when you were touting that. I draw the line on creamers from the Statler. I wonder how much a piece of Mayor Leppert costs? We should put it up on eBay. (ePotashnik?)
