Christmas Comes Early For Tom Hicks

• Montemalone - I'm only speculating, but I'm assuming the final price was lowered in exchange for part-ownership for Hicks. The big question, of course, is whether Hicks himself is the owner or if HSG and it's heavy debt retains ownership. I can't picture MLB approval if HSG keeps a share of the team unless it includes a clause to pay off a portion of the debt...again, just speculating.

• Rafa has lost it -- he's lost the team, and it started about a year ago last winter. He's a good manager, but the cycle has come to an end for him. Time for him to move on. Starting two defensive midfileders at Anfield against Arsenal -- I don't get it. It sends to wrong message to the players. I'm not a supporter of Liverpool so please Rafa, please continuing playing Lucas in the middle with Mascherano. I love how they clog up the whole game, allow teams to kill them down the wings, and prevent Gerrard from being the true box-to-box midfielder that he is. Two goals for Arsenal both coming on crosses, and not very good crosses at that. Good job Glenn Johnson! The key to beating Liverpool is to cross it to Glenn Johnson, spread the word. But if you listen to most of these scousers, Hicks and Gillett are the only problem. That second half performance was awful, and I blame that on Rafa.

• Y'all did notice the part about Hicks being a part of the group he's selling to. I wonder how much he'll pay himself to sell himself his own debt?

• Personally I hope Hicks keeps Liverpool so he can run them into the ground just like he did the Rangers! I would rather walk alone!

• Best of luck, Liverpool fans! If we can get rid of Hicks, maybe you can too. Although the deal's not 100% done yet, so I hope I didn't just jinx it.
