Betty Culbreath Sees Latest Brouhaha Between Caraway and Hill as Indictment of 14-1

• cp and Bob: I don't want to do it: I really don't. But it's like the proverbial train wreck: when you roll slowly by it, you want to look away.... but somehow you end up looking, and it's even worse than you imagined. A cliche? Yes. Reality? Well...

• Well, cp, at the length truth will out. That, or content. I forget which.

• Wow, Robert, your blog is starting to look like the article commenters over on the DMN website. Who knew they read Unfair Park???

• Ms. Culbreath: please procure a copy of Microsoft Word. You can scan all of your blogs prior to posting and save yourself (and the rest of us) the pain of the public dissection of your grammatical shortcomings. Seriously, please. It's not even fun anymore. Like punching babies. Ok, that's still fun from time to time.

• Last I checked, most councilmembers were rubber stamps for whatever the Mayor wanted, save for one or two. So I don't think it matters what color they are. Ms Culbreath would have been a better councilmember in my opinion, however. There wouldn't be any battles over who owns what street.

• The "other" BWM? Is this particular German automaker trying to trick people into thinking they're buying a BMW? And Montemalone, these fools got elected by the roughly 3% of eligible voters who actually vote in city elections.

• How did any of these fools get into positions of responsibility and authority in the first place?

• @Defeat -- well, he got the German car. The other BWM he may get if he ever serves time in the gray bar hotel.

• What an utter and absolute an embarrassment Culbreath continues to be. Marginally literate and clueless. "As other Council member see this they know if the Southern sector Rep. are not on the same page nothing gets done." I defy someone to diagram that sentence, random verb tense, capitalization, punctuation, and all.

• Never knew Hill is a minister. Does the title "Minister" or "Reverend" count for much in South Dallas, seems like everybody in South Dallas is a minister or reverend.

• "Too bad we don't have any leaders who would want the best for the entire city and not just their fiefdom." Which could be described as the failure of 14-1 and the lack of a "strong mayor" system of governance.

• &#64;Casey -- So white, hispanic or asian council members would only look over their own interests in their areas and not the city at large? But other politicians like JWP screw their own constituents in order to get personal gain or Don Hill who got a BWM! Too bad we don't have any leaders who would want the best for the entire city and not just their fiefdom.

• Heywood, What Betty is implying is that the four African American council members are expected represent the interests of those that make up their district. That leaves two of them to carry out that agenda if the other two are arguing.

• Although this dead horse has been beaten into just a greasy spot in the road, I feel compelled to ask: What is the perception and effect of government respresentatives' shoddy, amateurish, minimally educated communications, especially for (presumably) national and international level business people doing business with the airport? I'm not quibbling over the occasional mispelling (heh), and I'm not playing Miss Thrushbottom (William Safire's prototypical grammarian), but I am being represented by people such as this, and I'm embarrassed.
