Scared to flash your wallet this holiday season at the mall for fear somebody might nab it? Hate leaving your goodie bags in the car will result in a smashed-in window? (No, we're not talking to you, NorthPark Center. Why do you ask? Oh ... right.) Look, don't worry: The Dallas Police Department promises it'll keep an eye on you and your stuff.

Beginning this Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, and continuing until December 26, a number of on- and off-duty police officers will marshal forces as part of a Holiday Mall Task Force that will be hanging out in malls and around major shopping centers. According to the DPD, the "Task Force will be deployed within a time window of 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m."

Here's where you DPD says you can expect to see an increased police presence: Galleria Dallas, NorthPark Center, Valley View Center, Wynnewood Shopping Center, Southwest Center Mall, Pinnacle Park, the Jefferson Corridor and Bishop Arts District shopping areas, the Lancaster-Keist corridor, the Wheatland and S. Buckner corridors, along the Samuell Boulevard shopping district and the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard corridor.
