If You See Eric Stratton Around Town in January, Don't Invite Him to Your Toga Party

Couple of weeks back we broke the news that Fox TV Studios had decided to shoot Jack and Dan -- a new hour-long buddy-cop action-comedy starring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks -- in Dallas. Pre-production's well under way, with shooting set to begin in January. Don't know how we missed this Hollywood Reporter follow-up, but there's been further casting news: Diana-Maria Riva, also ex of The West Wing and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, will play Whitford's former partner and the twosome's boss.

But, better still, now we know who's directing the pilot episode: Otter! Or, if you prefer, Alan Stanwyk! Tim Matheson, yet another West Wing grad attached to this show, has already directed four episodes of Burn Notice, whose creator, Matt Nix, is also the man behind Jack and Dan. No doubt, he anticipates a deeply religious experience during his time here.
