"This is Not About Gay and Lesbian Marriage."

As you're no doubt aware, on Thursday, Judge Tena Callahan of Dallas County's 302nd Family District Court ruled that two men married in Massachusetts in 2006 could indeed get divorced in Dallas. To which Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott responded, Whoawhoawhoa: "The laws and constitution of the State of Texas define marriage as an institution involving one man and one woman. Today's ruling purports to strike down that constitutional definition -- despite the fact that it was recently adopted by 75% of Texas voters." An appeal is forthcoming.

But just yesterday, one half of the couple in question went on Good Morning America with his attorney, Peter Schulte (who recently ran for Dallas County Sheriff), to say that, look, this isn't a victory for gay rights for myriad reasons. Such as: It's about the end of a marriage, never a happy thing, and he says he never received any legal or fiscal support from those claiming this is a win. "This is not a test case. I'm not a poster child," says the man known as J.B. "This is my battle over the full-faith credit. This is not about gay and lesbian marriage." The video is after the jump.
