Now, Go Left: The Whole Foods "Buycott"

Don't know how we missed word of the Whole Foods "buycott," which kicked off Tuesday night in St. Louis and at the Preston Forest location. Read about it in this morning's Los Angeles Times, where author Meghan Daum brings word of the National Tea Party's response to the response to Whole Foods co-founder John Mackey's Wall Street Journal op-ed from August in wrote that we need better health, not better health care. The Tea Party has asked its peoples to shop at Whole Foods for a whole week -- because that'll show those "left wing propagandists" who've gone to, um, Central Market, maybe? If nothing else, they need to stock up on snacks for when the kids are home from school on Tuesday.

@Phelps FWIW, a lot of Republicans already shop at Whole Foods. We just don't wear catchy T-shirts and festoon our cars with cheesy bumper stickers, so we are harder to spot. It was pretty much what I expected...a bunch of old white people in a sterilized neighborhood with several police officers on watch, presumably just in case one of the protesters went into an Obama-induced blind rage. I doubt it. All of the violence so far has been from Obama supporters (almost all SEIU members) beating up otherwise peaceful tea partiers. ============================================= No, those would be the SUVs festooned with stupid, faux-patriotic metallic ribbons. Trust me, the pseudo-brownshirts are VERY easy to spot.
What a crack up. The ugly truth is that the states that have, per capita, the highest rate of smokers and overweight people are those that make up the cornerstone block of the conservative party. Is it coincidence that Fox News has the most watched shows on TV? Not to pick on Fox, but when one thinks of fat and lazy people, the image that usually comes to mind is of someone sitting around, watching TV all the time.

I been shopping at Whole Foods for many years. Don't need no stinking buycott bunch or old folks to sway me either way. I like the products at Whole Foods and I am older than dirt........well some of the dirt.

This just in from Whole Foods central: Allegedly, a man 'dressed as Oliver North' was seen waving an 'unidentified organic melon' at a woman whose 'possibly black child' was 'mistaken' for an 'Obama plant'. This following the unfortunate incident where a sample tray of 'Islamic goat feta' was 'smeared' on a Prius by 'a Sarah Palin lookalike'.

these Tea Party things usually start pretty early in the day so that the participants can get home before Matlock starts. Unfortunately, I actually work for a living, so I haven't been able to watch the absurdity that is the "tea party movement" for myself until I scooted by the "buycott" tuesday night. If I didn't already know that John Mackey was an Ayn Rand worshiping Libertarian, I'd almost say he planned this; how else are you going to get people content on eating crap into your organic grocery store?
