Paul Quinn's Accredited Again! For Now.

• Good, now they can continue to offer a degree in remedial education.

• They get to keep leeching money while trying to prove they are worth a dime? Those students would be well advised to get out; plenty of reasonable alternatives.

• Good old Bill, always helping out the wrong folks. Bye the way, has anyone figured out if Matthew Harden, also officing over at South on Lamar and a beneficiary of Bill's meddling in the wrong issues at DISD, attended any of the meetings of d'Angelo Lee? Could it be that Matthew was in the same neighorhood as part of Ask old Bill about helping Matthew Harden to a $600,000 settlement from DISD, and then connect the dots over this DMN story: "Dallas Mayor Laura Miller said Tuesday that a City Council member improperly tried to steer business to a favored firm by threatening to oppose a contract that airport administrators had wanted quickly approved. Ms. Miller said Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill told her that several members of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport board would oppose a $3.8 million contract managed by Centex Construction Co. if MATCOR Unlimited Inc. were not considered for future business. Mr. Hill denied promoting MATCOR, whose chief executive officer is Matthew Harden Jr., the former chief financial officer of the Dallas school district who resigned in 1998 amid a federal investigation of the district's finances and a number of lawsuits. Mr. Harden's resignation was part of a deal to settle a suit he filed against the school district. He was never criminally charged. Mr. Harden said he never spoke with Mr. Hill or anyone else about a contract for his firm. . . ." Harden was officing at South on Lamar. Why is no one looking into the connection?

• If I was a student at Paul Quinn I think I would get out of there as soon as I could.

• I don't get it. Admittedly I haven't read the suit, but don't you either meet the standards or not? Are they arguing that trying is good enough?

• Note that this was an agreed injunction, not any type of decision on the merits by the judge. It appears that the Southern Assn is doing the right thing on behalf of all the students at Paul Quinn by letting the college's probationary status ride while the lawsuit is being decided.
