Hours ago, Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins rebuked The Dallas Morning News for saying he was "sitting on the sidelines" rather than investigating Dallas County Constables Derick Evans and Jaime Cortes's "too-cozy" relationship with Dowdy Ferry Auto Service. Then, just moments ago, this invite to a 1:30 p.m. get-together arrived in the Unfair Park in-box:
Dallas County Judge Jim Foster to hold press conference today ... to appoint an independent investigator to investigate allegations brought forward by individuals concerning Constable precincts #1 and #5 that have been somewhat detailed in the recent Dallas Morning News.
Evans is the Dallas County Constable for Precinct 1; Cortes, for Precinct 5.
