According to insiders allegedly ~~~those in charge of 'branding' the Bush Library's 'signature international image' scooped up the entire uniform lot to be apparently used for ‘think tank in house tour guides. Unconfirmed and as yet unreleased PR allegedly being spawned link this as being 'still another indication of the former president's financial prudence.'

Meanwhile, public officials--state and national representatives (Congress, Senate, Texas House, etc), not to mention city council and the mayor--don't say A WORD about the waste of millions of dollars.
WHY IS THIS? Is it because they want the district to tank so that it can be split up? Is is because they're too old or out-of-touch to realize what's going on? Is it because they WANT Dallas to be a city without a middle class?
There has to be a reason no one elected says anything. And TEA? Please.
We plan to be yet another family moving out of the DISD--middle school and high school are just getting too ghetto-ish and chaotic. All of it is fixable (for example: create more alternative schools using existing buildings and get the thugs out of neighborhood schools), but no one is tending to the pretty straightforward business of the district.
The board, the supe--is anyone running this district? Sure doesn't seem like it.
If anyone knows why there's radio silence when it comes to the DISD--and I'm including church members who will donate thousands to overseas missions but will not speak up in defense of the poor kids in the district--I'm truly and sincerely wondering.

I actually think the break up would be a good idea - but don't dismiss your neighborhood schools. Most principals, teachers, parents ans students are veterans who know how to get around the b.s. coming from Ross Ave.
It would be nice if we didn't have to fight them - but the struggle creates a strange galvanizing force which actually brings a school and community together. You can't get that in HPISD or a private school. At least our drop outs know two languages!
