DPD Chief David Kunkle testifying today at Fernando Perez's administrative reinstatement hearing

The hearing for once, twice, three-times-a-fired-Dallas cop Fernando Perez just wrapped -- and Administrative Law Judge Willie Crowder upheld the termination. And thus ends the tale of Fernando Perez, who opted to hold the hearing behind closed doors when Unfair Park showed up at City Hall for a progress report earlier this afternoon. (So happens that we showed up just as Dallas police chief David Kunkle was testifying, no doubt about his decision to can Perez in January after he was discovered using police property to drive to and from work, as his own vehicle had been repo'd.)

And in other former DPD employee news, courtesy "Religion of Bacon" in the comments of Schutze's live blog from today, we find quite the revelation from former Dallas police chief Terrell Bolton, who's still appealing his firing in DeKalb County, Georgia. The blog DeKalb Officers has posted the transcripts from Bolton's merit hearings, which wrapped last week and after which the officer in charge has 20 days to rule on whether the former chief should be re-instated.

During his final day of testimony, Bolton discussed his salary in and departure from Dallas -- and the subsequent litigation, which the Supreme Court tossed in the recycling bin at the end of March. Alas, that isn't quite how T.B. remembers it.
