So reports the great Ed Bark
, who's peeked at a copy of the CBS affiliate's petition to the Federal Communications Commission
in which KTVT's asking for a new frequency pronto
. Uncle Barky's got the details, but the short version is: Channel 11 says the digital transition on June 12 absolutely murdered its viewership, leading to a drastic plunge in viewership and "thousands of complaints" from folks who're apparently still wondering what-the-what. The FCC's site also has the station's detailed reasons for needing Channel 19
, in which execs write that "while KTVT has attempted to help these viewers receive its signal, it has become apparent that their reception problems are not susceptible of a ready cure."
