Last Night, Mockingbird Station Was Overrun With Fanboys and Fortune Seekers

| Artist Huck Gee and his little buddy, free yesterday and worth a small fortune today |
From Arkansas, Florida and Cleveland and beyond they came, all for something three inches tall. Some were true believers, fanboys and fetishists for whom the opening of a Kidrobot in the flyover's a big effing deal; Brandon Oldenburg and Curiosities' Jason Cohen, of the late Forbidden Books in Expo Park, were among those who'd come out just to observe the big doings in the small store. Then there were those looking to make a mint off the grand opening: On eBay already, you'll find the so-called golden-ticket items going for $129.99 and upward. Says Gee, "I don't mind the secondary market, per se, as long as the die-hard fans can still get it at the original price." That ain't likely to happen.
(Update: We've got more photos from the happening in this slide show. Also after the jump, video from Erykah Badu's return to Kidrobot during Thursday's grand opening.)
