Funny, we'd just been thinking we hadn't heard from our local Lingerie Football League franchisees in a while -- especially with the ABA throwing its weight around Dallas last week -- when the Dallas Desire sent an invitation out to catch the team at scrimmage Friday morning.

Friday's media day -- the team's third, unless we missed a few -- also serves as a friendly reminder that the ladies of gridiron and lace will be opening their season at home against the Denver Dream September 25, and playing their final home game October 23. There are no home games in the middle.

Along with a quick photo op, the team worked out in pads Friday as league founder Mitchell Mortaza looked on. Players said the first string team was all set, and were waiting to hear news about final roster cuts later in the day.
