The Richards Group's Hoagie Man, who looks awfully familiar
The Richards Group gets a shout-out in The New York Times this morning for its Hoagiefest promotion, which takes a big ol' bite outta the Yellow Submarine in order to sell sandwiches to folks living up north. Turns out, Richards is just ridin' the peace train with the rest of 'em, as even Luvs is packaging faux-protest with baby poop. Says Richards' Glenn Dady, nostalgia is the perfect motivator, even for people who don't know what they're feeling nostalgic for: "For people in their late 40s and up, it takes them back. And the younger people gravitate to it because their video games are playing music from that time period." Incidentally, a little digging reveals that the downloadable and crazy-making music on the Hoagiefest site is by Nerf Herder's Parry Gripp.
