Don Hill and Sheila Farrington filed a prayer of their own in federal court yesterday.
Late yesterday, Don Hill's PR man, Ken Carter, sent to media an objection filed in federal court in which the former Dallas mayor pro tem and his wife, Sheila Farrington, want U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn to keep from the public's prying ears the feds' "audio-visual evidence" against the two in the public corruption case set to go to trial on Monday. Reads the important part of the legal doc:
"The Hills are not afraid of the audio-visual evidence in this case. In fact, they embrace it and believe it will convincingly demonstrate their innocence once it is displayed in full view, and in context. But the public has only been permitted to hear the Government's side of the story (the Hills being denied the right to publicly explain what really happened), and people are understandably suspicious of the Hills based on what they have heard. The Hills are therefore anxious to tell their story and have their names vindicated."
But after the jump is a far more interesting document filed in court yesterday, which I just found on PACER: Hill's attorney, Ray Jackson, is now claiming that "the Government quietly sat on key exculpatory evidence showing that Mr. Hill was not involved in a conspiracy to commit extortion with Kevin Dean and John Lewis," both of whom have already taken a guilty plea and agreed to testify against Hill in the low-income housing corruption case. "Last week, Mr. Hill discovered remarkable (though unsurprising) exculpatory evidence demonstrating that Mr. Hill was not involved in the conspiracy at all."

After the jump, you will find not only the five-page pleading, but also supplementary materials.

Update: At 1:23 p.m. today, we received the filings from Ken Carter, Hill's PR man, along with a press release that says Hill and Sheila Farrington "seek dismal of the conspiracy charges."
