At This Rate, the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park Will Wind Up Paying For Itself

• Whats funny is they will continue to get more donations cause its a park. Now think of a certain Trinity Tollway that cost wise is bloated beyond belief. Where's the Trinity Tollway donors line. Don't they get a brick in the tollway flood walls with their name on it so we have someone to blame. That's right people love parks and hate highways, traffic, and hot summer concrete so that's why barely enough voters approved the Tongue Tied Tom Leppert Trinity Tollway while Woodall Rogers Park is driven by community sweat and tears who actually want the project and will use it on a regular basis.

• What is all of that crap doing in the middle of our park? A row of trees on each side and green grass would be nice. Do we really need the fried Snickers vendors?

• With the success that they had with a similar park??? project over the parking lot at the Record's Building, I doubt that they will have what they vision. I don't want them to plant Poison Ivy or Poison Oak over the freeway to keep the unsavory riff raf out of Uptown, however it might be an idea.

• I'm trying to imagine all those pedestrians walking across the access road as depicted in the watercolor above. Is this park going to make the current traffic disappear?

• Just say no. Meaning yes.

• I'm sure it will have a toll road running through it before you know it. And sailboats.

• Except that when they start pouring the concrete over the freeway, all of Woodall Rogers will sink into an undiscovered pit of quicksand. The cost will balloon to $5 billion, and we'll be redesigning the whole thing 5 years from now.

• so how long until they propose putting a second level to the freeway right through the middle of the park? hehe i kid i kid

• The park looks like it could be great, but I'm a little unclear on how a park is a transportation project. If you look at what other states are spending the money on, it's bread and butter stuff like bridge repair, road resurfacing, mass transit projects, etc. http://www.govtech.com/gt/articles/693851 I guess it's the fact that the park is going to built over a freeway? So if we had built the new opera house on top of Woodall Rogers, it would've become a transportation project?

• $43,000,000 for five acres?!?!?!?! WTF?
