As Mary Suhm Struggles to Cut, Then Gut, the City Budget, "More Difficult Decisions" Loom

• Waterlewd, Mary Suhm would have no idea what you are talking about. DCAD has not increased the value of her residence since 2003.

• Why raise taxes when they can just lean on the Dallas CAD to fabricate housing value increases? I'm eagerly awaiting for my next Dallas CAD appraisal (read: tax increase)...oh boy! Just one of the many flaws in the Texas taxation system.

• Fer godsake RAISE TAXES ALREADY!! The City Council just got re-elected. They can't get thrown out for another two years Time for them to suck it up and do what needs to be done. Oh, they might try cutting all administrator pay 10% across the board, too.

• Gangsta's Raradise. Change is a metaphor for the new forms of dictatorship being formed everywhere and here. Get your concealed weapon out in plain view.

• I propose 1) No air conditioning in the offices of city council members. In the winter they can just blow more hot air and in the summer they can use the cold shoulder they have for taxpayers. 2) Until the budget is balanced, or in surplus, no more flood zone toll road or convention center hotel expenses. 3) City council members pay is cut 50% and they can not have expenses reimbursed past 10% of their base pay. 4) No parades. Saves on police overtime and keeps streets open. 5) Ask John Wylie Price for some of his 15%!!

• Heres a simple idea: Get rid of your pet projects, such as the bridge and start taking care of the real needs, like a new levee, streets and police/fire services.
