I can't understand why this Dallas photo isn't iconic. The Lewis Hines NYC picture, of course, has been made into millions of posters; I'd pay for a mighty big one of this local pic, happily.

It might be several factors. It was the empire state building being built during the depression (see city hotel during depression II?) It was a much larger camera that had to be dragged much higher? Al Capps versus gimme caps?
A single beam flaoting in psace looks scarier? The topless guy? I too would love a copy on the wall.

Maybe Mayor Tommy will take note and promise lots of pretty pictures of the construction workers who will build the new Convention Center Hotel. But someone will have to teach him to to say 'smile' in Spanish and not to make an 'border patrol on the way' jokes.
