Oops! Forgot the diversity quota. You're at minute 7:06 of 7:32 before you see an adult of color. I guess that's a recruitment message.

Victory Park in danger of default, claims DMN.

Posted On: Tuesday, Mar. 24 2009 @ 2:47PMActually, the Financial Times of Germany makes that claim. We've posted about it as well, and are awaiting responses from Hillwood and Victory Park. Everyone hold their breath starting ... now.
Posted On: Tuesday, Mar. 24 2009 @ 2:50PMWith some modifications, this film could be used by the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Dial down the business boosterism just a tad. Show a few shots of smiling attractive people getting piss drunk. Have a sequence of Smilin' Dean Fearing slinging some kind of fancy pants hash. Add a few close-ups of people stroking their chins in deep engagement with the Sixth Floor Museum.
And make sure each speaker ends his statement with, "And really, there are hardly any titty bars -- very few, if even that."
Posted On: Tuesday, Mar. 24 2009 @ 2:50PMUmm. yeah.. sorry about that. It's the Financial Times of Germany that the DMN is quoting. Jumped the gun there a bit.
Posted On: Tuesday, Mar. 24 2009 @ 2:50PMBy the way, the German Financial Times article quotes the Dallas Observer:
Der "Dallas Observer" vergleicht den Stadtteil sogar mit einer Geisterstadt und zitiert den Immobilienmakler Joel Pustmueller: "Als ich kürzlich abends dort essen gehen wollte, habe ich mich gefühlt wie Will Smith in ,I Am Legend‘." Keine angenehme Vorstellung: In dem Science-Fiction-Film streift der letzte Überlebende einer Virusinfektion durch das entvölkerte New York.
Rough Translation from Babelfish:
The “Dallas Observer” compares the quarter even with a spirit city and quotes the real estate agent Joel Pustmueller: “As I recently in the evening eating to go there wanted, I felt like Will Smith in, I to putting `.” No pleasant conception: In the Science Fiction film the last survivor of a virus infection touches by the depopulated New York.
Thanks, Jean -- you and I were posting the same thing at the same time ...

... because is there anything more fun than using Internet translators? No, no there is not.

Posted On: Tuesday, Mar. 24 2009 @ 3:51PMNever mind, it was just a youtube error.
Posted On: Wednesday, Mar. 25 2009 @ 8:39AMShouldn't this be called Destination North Texas? American Airlines, Fluor, ExxonMobil ...none of these are in Dallas. True, a percentage of employees may live in Dallas proper, but likely an equal or greater number lives in Plano or another non-Dallas city.
Posted On: Wednesday, Mar. 25 2009 @ 11:35AMWow, that is awesome. Living in Houston for the past 8 months has really boosted my love for Dallas. Now, I must change my underwear.
