Tomorrow at Opening Bell, an "Unconference" For Those Looking for Work -- and Support

Several Friends of Unfair Park, at least one of whom's currently looking for work, have directed our attention in recent days to LaidOffCampDFW -- "an unconference for unemployed, non-traditionally employed, employees and employers (including freelancers, entrepreneurs and startups) in the DFW area who want to share ideas and learn from each other." And drink coffee, lots of coffee.

The Dallas unget-together takes place tomorrow from 1 to 5 p.m. at Opening Bell Coffee, and, while nearly 20 more are spread across major metropoleis in coming weeks, Dallas's is only the second such workshop in the country, following San Francisco's 400-strong kickoff on Tuesday, where sessions included everything from how to make some short-term cash to landing freelance work to navigating the "downtime stream." San Francisco, incidentally, is the home base of LaidOffCamp founder Chris Hutchins, who told Wired this week, "Everybody gets laid off at some point. It's normal."
