Someone not named "Jim Schutze" just posted the above video to YouTube -- just in time for the Friends of Unfair Park who've not yet read Schutze's very related column in this week's Observer. An excerpt, to whet your appetite:
At the end of last week, I had a detailed and helpful conversation with Kevin Craig, who is manager of the Trinity River project for the Corps of Engineers. I wanted to know more about what was wrong and why it took the Corps so long to reveal results of tests it did back in December 2007.
The answer was that the original test results sort of went out the window last year when a contractor began drilling 54-inch diameter shafts 90 feet into the soil for the Margaret Hunt-Hill "signature" bridge. The drillers hit sand.
Actually, Oakley was just as a much of a toll road fundamentalist as Leppert was--if not more so.
Sorry I mean "Hunt".
Well I woldn't vote hunt for Mayor on a bet, but I would support her if she wanted to help "raise awareness" of what Leppert is really trying to do to this (already hanging by a thread) city.
I would proudly sign my name to a mayor recall. Please someone get started on this. I'd feel better about Dallas with Angela Hunt in charge.
If we can't have a recall in May, let's print the "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for Oakley" bumper stickers.
I am TOTALLY on board with this recall idea.
And while we're at it, put a vote on the agenda to GIVE OAK CLIFF BACK TO ITSELF. No more giant sucking sounds.
Leppert - original carpetbagger.
"Recall". Now there's a good word and a good idea I hadn't thought of. Hunt is a lawyer isn't she? Maybe she needs to get the ball rolling on this.
What is that smell of burning pants coming from City Hall?
Is it too late to add a recall election for Mayor Leppert on top of the anti-hotel project vote?
Well, Leppert did tell us that "this is a project that will change the face of Dallas":

We just didn't know that he was referring to the Central Business District becoming part of the Trinity floodplain.
"The corp has signed off on it"???????
Huh.... what happened... did one of our kids prank-call the mayor?
No, no no! He was telling the TRUTH all along! We just weren't listening to the right part.
If you listen closely, right at the end, he says:
<i>"Don't take our word for it."</i>
Once again, Tom Leppert proves himself to be the Joe Isuzu of Dallas city government.
