I have a restaurant idea that will never get off the ground. Remember the joy, as a little kid of eating your food to reveal the dragon, truck, or rainbow on the bottom of the bowl? Well, I think ashtrays would make great serving bowls. Why not get a bunch of funky seventies Jetsonesque ashtrays, cause Angela Hunt would pee in my makeshift tureen.

It's a matter of public health. The reason that speeding is against the law, is because it's a health issue. Same with this. AND I SMOKE.

I completely understand. When I speed, there's nothing anytone can do about it otherthan moving away from my car. The same is true about smoking. Speed limits weren't set until it was a matter of public interest. I'm suprised it's taken this long to address this.

And to the "well if you don't like it, don't go to the bar" folks . . . why should this be your decision? Why should the majority of those going to bars be the ones who should go elsewhere? Smoking isn't banned from everywhere. Go outside. It's good for you.

Big Brother . . . right . . . anarchy would be much better. Every law is Big Brother, right?

It is more than a losing fight, it is a LOST fight. So I agree with you in that sense. but as far as feeling some sort of pride, nothing could be further from the truth. My city, as shitty and humiliating as it is, has shamed me more than I thought possible.

For those of you who feel some sort of pride that we di something NY and LA did, I pity you. This is no NY or LA, and totalitarian measures to take away our freedoms will not get us there. Maybe we should focus on the whole "Great City" thing first, then worry about letting out government FAR overstep its bounds.

Having said that, yes, I suppose it is time to move on. But I'll never forgive Angela Hunt no matter what she does for this city.

:shrug: it's not enforceable. Is a cop going to walk into every bar and start handing out tickets? I doubt it. Maybe if the bar was fined for smokers in their establishment the law would have some teeth.

Technically, you can't smoke in the Angry Dog in Deep Ellum but that doesn't stop anyone and the bar doesn't care because it's no skin off their back if a ticket happens to get written.

Sure thing Toots.... I prefer being little buddies to the alternative. Strangely enough, it's what helps me keep my sanity.
