Getting Itchy at the Fair Park Flea Market

If you're in need of some Legend Airlines dishware, I know where it can be had ...
The family and I spent the better part of Saturday afternoon strolling the Automotive Building at Fair Park, picking through the hand-me-downs stuffed inside the hangar during the monthly Buchanan Market that wraps up at 5 p.m. today for those with free time on their Sunday schedule. As always, there's quite the collection of odds and sods at this month's flea market, where vendors were overheard complaining about the lack of patrons making sizable purchases in this garage-sale economy.

Alas, I just couldn't pony up the $112 asking price for a few pieces of leftover Legend Airlines china; tempting (still have my member's card), but instead I walked out with a buck's worth of plastic-wrapped Legend paper napkins -- about 100, which should come in handy for when I feel like dressing up a dinner party as discount first-class. Also left on the table: an enormous transparent, plastic Baker Hotel room key fob for $18 (which I now regret not buying), a Dallas High School postcard from the 1920s (a deal at only six bucks), an autographed copy of Lon Tinkle's The Key to Dallas (for $40) and a Randy White Burger King glass that I'm going back to get right now.
