| Eric Nadel, greatest local sports broadcaster ever |
At freaking last. The Texas Rangers announced this afternoon that for the first time in the team's history, game broadcasts will be available on the FM side of your radio dial -- at least, weekday games have gone high fidelity. So says
the media release announcing KRLD-FM (105.3,
The Fan) as the new (part-time) home of the Rangers. You can expect about to hear Eric Nadel and newly announced play-by-playmate Dave Barnett about 110 times on The Fan -- unless, for whatever reason, the team opts to move the mound to KRLD-AM (1080), which will still carry the weekend broadcasts.
Says team president Nolan Ryan of the move, "The sound, quality and strength of The Fan's FM signal will provide a new listening experience for our fans." If nothing else, it's easier than actually winning the American League West.
